California

You've got to jump off cliffs all the time and build your wings on the way down.
Annie Dillard

We just arrived back home after two weeks in our native California. After a day with our families, we headed north for 10 days to the Ojai Valley to work the Festival of Radical Discipleship with our mentors Ched Myers and Elaine Enns. Our families also got to participate in a lot of the conference. The weather was…AMAZING. And getting to see the stars at night was…REVOLUTIONARY. Here are some photos from the journey.

A little coffee with our nephew Riley and Tom's dad, Dennis.

Kristen, Sue & Dennis joined us at the Festival (along with occasional "support staff" appearances from Riley & Nawny!).

Lindsay shares a laugh while working the Land with friends from Philly (Joshua, Jay & Tevyn of the Carnival de Resistance).

We kick-started Lent at a beautiful sunrise service and harvest at the Abundant Table Farm in Santa Paula, CA.

Ephemeral art (an Oak Tree depicted with birdseed) from Ted Lyddon Hatten, a campus pastor at Drake University in Iowa:

A mural painted by Dmitri Kadiev (with the help of plenty of others):

This past weekend we recovered from lots of work at the Festival and spent some time with Family. Lindsay took Riley on his first train ride down to San Clemente:

We connected with the Rutenbar family for a meal and mayhem:

We arrived back in the D last night to snow showers and a large pizza from Papa's!
